This was shot from Craggs Rd. to the north of the castle, so presented the problem of keeping the detail on the north side of the castle whilst shooting directly into the sun. This was taken on the 13th of January, f/5.6 1/125th at ISO 100, which was far more exposure than I wanted for the sky and far less than I wanted for the castle; it was then developed on the computer. The ponds to the right are Carr Vale Nature reserve, it looks across the M1 to the distant hills, on which was a covering
