Portmuck canvas
The harbour at Portmuck, County Antrim is named after a nearby island, Muck Island, from ‘Muc’, the Irish for pig as the island is supposed to resemble the shape of a sleeping pig, but no matter what angle I look at the Island I do not get the resemblance. It has its share of history; in its time it has been the site of a revenue station, a coast guard station, the site of a fortress, a monastery and an export harbour that was well known for smuggling.
