This gateway can be found at the entrance to Cwm Idwal behind the visitor centre just off the A5 Ogwen valley. Once through the gate you will cross a bridge over llyn Idwal, this is a overflow from Cwm Idwal. As you look skywards the snow covered peak of Tryfan can be seen in the distance, this being one of Snowdonia's more notorious mountains. Following the pathway round to the left takes you up to Cwm Idwal Which is at the base of the Gylderau range.
