St Marys church East Cliff, Whitby. An anglican parish church overlooking the River Esk and the town and close to the ruins of Whitby Abbey. A flight of 199 steps lead up the hill to the church from the street Two significant landslips due to broken drainage and torrential rain have placed the churchyard and cottages below in jeopardy. Work has been carried out to rectify this and is now deemed to be safe.The churchyard was used in the film Dracula.
