As you see not all Moths are dull and boring looking, and here we have a rather delightful UK moth, the Puss Moth (Cerura vinula), medium large, with a wingspan of up to 70mm. This is a male, as evidenced by the feathery antennae used to detect the pheromones given off by the females. This was taken in my garden in Sissinghurst, Kent, England and he is perched on my favourite red Camellia Bush in full flower. I believe that the name "puss moth" refers to the cat-like hair on the head and
