Danaus chrysippus, known as the Plain Tiger or African Monarch, is a common butterfly which is widespread in Asia and Africa. It belongs to the Danainae ("Milkweed butterflies") subfamily of the brush-footed butterfly family, Nymphalidae. This shot was taken at the Stratford-Upon-Avon Butterfly Centre UK, Europes largest Butterfly centre with about 1600 butterflies of over 80 different species. All flying freely in a large specially damp heated indoor-Rain Forest.
