Shingle Street is a desolate, remote,eery,fascinating stretch of pebbly beach on the Suffolk coast near Woodbridge ,at the mouth of the river Ore and opposite Orford Ness. No formal streets but a line of coastguard cottages. Was popular with wealthy late Victorians and today in the Summer to those who know of this unusual place. Popular too with seals ! Also known for the rumour of a failed German coastal invasion.
