Kilchurn Castle canvas
Standing on the north east end of Loch Awe Kilchurn Castle is a 15th century castle now in ruin. The castle was a Campbell stronghold but it is considered to have been built on an earlier site site of McGregor of Glenstrae. It became a government stronghold during the Jacobean times but was previously held by the Campbell's for four hundred years.
