This stunning digital painting portrays the historic moment when Melvin 'Dinghy' Young in Lancaster AJ-A drops his bomb at the Mohne Dam, causing a massive breach in the walls. The aircraft clears the parapet just seconds before the bomb detonates. Despite the success of the mission, AJ-A was tragically shot down on the return leg over the Dutch coast. This artwork is a lasting tribute to the bravery and skill of the men of 617 Squadron, the Dambusters.
