A female Rothschild Giraffe, (Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi), found in western Kenya, Trans-Nzola, and Lake Baringo districts, north west to Karamoja and northern Uganda. It can be distinguished from the Masai giraffe by its paler, less jagged coat pattern and their legs which are usually unmarked below the knee. The males have three or five horns with a knob like outgrowth centrally placed in front of the normal horns, with two smaller ones behind them. Giraffe’s are the tallest mammals.
