Howick Bathing House and Dunstanburgh Castle canvas
The Grade II litsed bathing house on the coast at Howick, Northumberland. It was built in the early 19th century by the 2nd Earl Grey who was the Prime Minister responsible for the passing of the Great Reform Bill of 1832 and whose monument stands at the top of Grey Street in Newcastle upon Tyne. It is now a holiday cottage. Behind in the middle distance is Cullernose Point, an outcrop of dolerite forming part of the Whin Sill and behind that, the majestic ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle.
