Interior of the immense dome of the Church of New Jesus (Chiesa del Gesù Nuovo) - Naples, Campania, Italy. This building was originally built as a palace in 1470, but in 1584 it was sold to the Jesuits who rebuilt the entire building except the the diamond stone façade and the Renaissance marble portal. The new church was consecrated in 1601. The dome was completed in 1634 but it had to be rebuilt in 1688 following an earthquake.
