I believe there are places which though perceived, do not in fact exist. Sintra, for example. Had I only visited Sintra once I’d have argued with absolute conviction, I had dreamt it. My second visit did however secure its place alongside the dubious certainty of Venice or New York. It became, like them, a fictional reality. I’m grateful therefore for this picture, taken on my first visit. It confirms that this place truly was once, a figment of imagination…

Silver Frame – Silver brushed finish.
