As the Loch Lomond song says: “ye’ll tak’ the high road, and I’ll tak’ the low road……” It’s a beautiful song, made more so by the comprehension of what is meant by ‘high road’ and ‘low road’. In appalling grief I walked a road to the loch’s bonnie banks; confoundedly, both terms ‘low’ and ‘high’ were applicable. Immutably, however, the loch greeted me, and the grief’s incomprehension was lessened. All Scottish lochs salve, but I can attest to the unique enduring prospective of this loch.
