This picture invokes fond memories of friendships being unexpectantly formed. The figure in the foreground is a professor from Colombia, a kind, gentle and knowledgeable individual. The exquisite dome of the Alcazar in Seville (which I must accord deference, as a most remarkable building, for its hybrid of historical embellishments, of styles and faiths) seemed to duly mirror my learned colleagues - someone whom I met and worked with only occasionally but came to respect and admire tremendously.
