St Martin-in-the-Fields is on one side of Trafalgar Square, another side of the square is occupied by The National Gallery that can be seen in the background. There has been a church on the site since at least medieval times in the fields outside the Roman wall. The present building, famous for its work with young and homeless people, was constructed by James Gibbs in the 1700’s and is a major London landmark.
