Short Sunderland MK. V SZ576 Moored at Tower Bridge canvas
On 18 September 1954 a Short Sunderland Mk. V SZ576 of 201 Squadron RAF Costal Command was moored by Tower Bridge, London. My brother-in-law, who never missed a good shot succeeded in capturing a photo of on its moorings while Tower Bridge was open to river traffic. The Sunderland saw service in the Korean War and the Berlin Airlift. It was replaced in 1961 by the Avro Shackleton. The photographic was taken by Peter Paton in 1954, and the post editing was done by Gary Sanford, 2020.
