Whenever I travel through countries purposefully trying to avoid large roads and fast connections between places, I get lost on the endless country roads and discover many fascinating things - the title alludes to William Least Heat-Moon's travel odyssey from 1982 in which he chronicled his travels on roads untravelled in the American backcountry. This particular road connects two nowheres somewhere in northern Hessia.
