Melchett Mere at Tatton Park sits separately from it's larger neighbour Tatton Mere. Not natural, it is the consequence of subsidence in the 1920s. The meres are dedicated SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) and RAMSAR sites and are recognised as nationally important habitats, not only providing nest sites and winter refuge for large numbers of water birds but are also abundant in wildflowers. The big sky struck me most when I took the picture

Silver Frame – Silver brushed finish.
