Pathway To Windsor picture board
A footpath winding through the Thames side meadows at Eton leading to Windsor in Berkshire, Across the Thames is the town dominated by its Castle - the out of town residence of the Royal Family. Built in the C11th as an outer London fortification, by William I, it was Henry i (1068-1135) who started to use it as a residence. Since then all English - and subsequently British monarchs - have chosen to live there and it is the present Queen's residence of choice near London.
