Grasmere, Cumbria with the village of the same name in the background overlooked by the snowy fells. Grasmere is a small lake (0.24 sq moles) and is both fed and drained by the River Rothay. Grasmere village is famous for Dove Cottage where the poet William Wordsworth lived from 1799 to 1808. He is buried in St Oswalds churchyard in the village. This photograph was shot in the heart of the Lake District National Park - the Lake District was awarded World Heritage site status by UNESCO.
