View Upriver From Whitchurch Bridge picture board
The view standing on the toll bridge at Whitchurch-on-Thames and looking upriver towards Pangbourne weir - captured on a November afternoon. The first bridge here was wooden and was constructed in 1792 followed by a further one in 1852. The present bridge is iron and was originally built in 1902. It was recently refurbished in 2013--14. It is one of only two toll bridges remaining over the Thames, the other being at Swinford.
