Lowrys Bargoed Revisited acrylic
In 1965 Laurence Stephen Lowry RBA BA (famous for his matchstick men) visited Bargoed and created a painting which became world famous and was one of the very few notable paintings that he created that were scenes from outside the industrial North West of England. Over 50 years later I have tried to recreate the scene from a spot near where his inspiration would have come from. I have given the image an oil painting effect.
