And you thought all leaves just fell to the ground to be collected and disposed of. Not so. Here we see a horde heading south for winter to escape the rakes and cold weather. They fill the sky as far as the eye can see against a background of cirrus clouds. While growing up in Minnesota, I learned to associate such a large number of feathery cirrus clouds with cold weather. No, clouds of migrating leaves were not common but we did get clouds of migrating birds of all kinds.
