Japanese A6M Zero fighters print
On 7 December 1941 - "a day which will live in infamy" as America's President Roosevelt put it - Japanese forces attacked the American Pacific fleet at Pearl Harbour on Oahu in the Hawaiian islands. Waves of bombers and torpedo bombers were escorted by A6M Type 0 ("Zero") fighters, like these from the carrier Akagi.
