Omega nebula - Messier 17 has many names - Horseshoe, Swan, Checkmark (Nike? :-) )... i prefer Cauliflower Nebula. It is one of Sagittarius Treasure (located in Sagittarius, 5000-6000 light years away). It is considered one of the brightest and most massive star-forming regions of our galaxy. This nebula has 15 light years in diameter.
