Oberwesel Ringmauer picture board
The eastern edge of the town of Oberwesel on the Middle Rhine in the UNESCO World Heritage Site (Ref: 1066) of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Part of the Medieval town walls (the Ringmauer), built around 1213 can be seen here with two of the remaining sixteen towers in view. Originally there were 21 towers. On the left is the Haagsturm, formerly the Roter Turm (Red Tower). It was named after Carl Haag, on the right is the Kuhhirtenturm (Cowhide Tower).
