There are many boat tours around Assateague Island. I opted for Captain Dan's, a smaller operation and was very pleased. My main goal was to see the ponies, but since I was also taking my niece, I opted for the sunset tour by Captain Dan. I liked that it wasn't the biggest tour on the island and the boat's Captain was Captain Dan's father. After we saw the wild ponies we also got to boat around the island, see the lighthouse, the many coastal birds and see the island from a new perspective.
