Before the sunrise, the conditions initially looked very unfavourable: there were heavy, thick clouds rolling over the hills. Pleasingly, shortly after the dawn there was a break in the sky and the water stayed still, which created perfect conditions for photographing the stormy scene in the warm morning's light.
