Birkenhead Park's Boathouse & swiss bridge, canvas
This Boathouse on the right, in Birkenhead Park, Wirral, UK was originally designed by the Liverpool architect Lewis Hornblower. In 1990, the Mobil Oil Co. sponsored the restoration of the Boathouse and ‘Mosaicist’ Maggy Howarth was commissioned to design a pebble mosaic for the floor. In the centre of the pebble mosaic is a round plaque which bears the inscription 'The Boathouse 1847'. To the left rear is the famous “Swiss Bridge.”
