Buddha head in a Banyan Tree in Ayutthaya, Thailan canvas
Featured as photo of the day by National Geographic magazine, a sepia photograph of a Buddha head sculpture in a Banyan Tree in Ayutthaya, Thailand. In the Unesco World Heritage Site of the old capital of Thailand, Ayutthaya, a large stone Buddha head sits encased in a banyan tree amongst many Thai Buddhist temples. Its roots are said to have grown around the sculpture during a time when the temple lay abandoned and overgrown for nearly 500 years.
