This section of the Delaware Canal is much like the entirety of the towpath in that it has a smooth and even surface of crushed red stone. The highlight is Washington Crossing Historic Park which is broken into two sections. The Northern section has a monument to unknown soldiers who died of exposure while Washington's Army camped before Christmas of 1776, and also the Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve. The Southern section of the park containes the site where the crossing actually took place.
