This was one of 106 buildings that made up the village of Tyneham, Lulworth, Dorset, England, UK. In 1943 villagers were ordered to move out, by Winston Churchill, prior to the area being used for D-Day preparations. It's believed that the Army had promised that villagers may return after World War II, with great regret to so many, this 'promise', was never kept. To this day although much of the village is in ruin, some, such as the school & church, remain fully intact & just as they were left
