Royal Navy F4U Corsair The Corsair was operated by the Royal Navy in the latter part of WW2, in the Pacific Theatre of operations. The image shows the aircraft of Lt. R H Gray VC, of the RCNVR, as flown from the carrier HMS Formidable by 1841 Naval Air Squadron during operations against the Japanese navy in late 1945. A formidable aircraft with a very fine combat record, an icon of naval air operations.
