Lindisfarne Window canvas
This is a modern stained glass window in the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin on Lindisfarne, the Holy Island on the coast of Northumberland in north-east England. Holy Island is joined to the Northumbrian coast by a causeway which is only uncovered at low tide. The church, parts of which date from the 7th century, is reputed to stand on the site of a monastery founded by St Aidan in 635 AD. The window includes depictions of Lindisfarne castle and a puffin.
