This is Lower Shelf Stones on Bleaklow. It overlooks the town of Glossop as well as having cracking views down Doctors Gate and the Snake Pass. I came here after photographing the aircraft wreckage on Higher Shelf Stones. I was actually facing 90 degrees south (left) to capture the sidelighting when the sun broke below the clouds, but in the end the light I had expected just didnt materialise. Instead I had to quickly re-compose while it lasted and a slight but obvious red light cast a glow
