WWII Landing craft, LTC Landfall canvas

The LCT Landfall, regarded as one of Britain’s most historic ships as the last survivor of the 4,000 craft which took part in the landings 70 years ago, was raised recently from her watery tomb. She rested on the floor of the East Float Birkenhead having sunk about 4 years ago. The National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth, has received a £916,000 grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund to raise and move Landfall to BAE Systems Naval Dockyard, Portsmouth, Hampshire, for restoration.
