The Goring Gap canvas
The point at which the River Thames flows through a gap between the Berkshire (North Wessex) downs and the Chiltern Hills known as the Goring Gap. The view here is from the Thames Path as it passes through Goring-on-Thames looking across the river to the wooded hillside of The Holies on the Berkshire side above the village of Streatley-on-Thames. This was a stormy afternoon in late October with the sun intermittently breaking through dark skies.
