Headlong attack print
My starting point for this picture was No. 17 Squadron’s Operations Record Book for Sunday, 25 August 1940, which described how one of its pilots, the remarkable Count Manfred Czernin, "attacked a bunch of Bf 110s head-on and destroyed three of them". The action took place over Weymouth in Dorset. There is a much longer caption on the Flight Artworks website.
