Lynmouth Bedstead canvas
This was the site of a house that was completely destroyed in the devastating flood that struck Lynmouth in August 1952 when 9 inches of rain fell in 24 hours. Torrents ran down the East and West Lyn rivers off Exmoor destroying 39 houses and claiming 34 lives, this bedstead is all that remains on the site. Over the years the tree has grown around the iron and is now incorporated into the branch.
