took this at Ditchling Beacon on the South Downs in East Sussex, UK. This is a huge area of unspoilt natural pasture land and having seen many stunning shots of vast swathes of poppies on Flickr recently, I was hoping to use my ultrawide Sigma 8-16mm to catch something similar. However, the poppies here were few and far between, so I ended up using my Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS from 2.8m away at 400mm (f/6.3 to get the narrow DOF) to catch this small group, showing the 3 stages of bud, fl
