These Dromedary camels [Camelus dromedaries] belong to the Bdoul Bedouin tribe who are the traditional guardians of the rose red city of Petra in southern Jordan. It was Bdoul tribesmen who guided explorer Johann Burckhardt into the ruins in 1812, leading to the discovery of the Nabataean city to the outside world.
