Though it is eerily beautiful, the bare trees are a result of deforestation caused by overrunning cormorants, which you can see silhouetted in the tree. Most of the islands are lush and green. These were bleak yet beautiful. This image has a silvery brown tone - not quite black and white and not quite sepia. It looks beautiful printed small or very large, especially printed on metal or metallic paper.
