Despite claiming eight victories during the Summer of 1940, one of the lesser-known RAF pilots who flew during the Battle of Britain was Sgt. Alan Stuart Harker of 234 Squadron. On the 6th. September 1940, Spitfire - AZ - N Flown by Sgt. Alan Harker of 234 Squadron claimed two Bf-109’s destroyed, both of which crashed near Eastbourne, plus two damaged, the kills were confirmed by his Squadron Leader. He was awarded the DFM on 22nd.
