Crossing the Siegfried Line canvas
The aerial combat in which New Zealand pilot Eddie Cobber Kain won his DFC in a Mk I Hurricane in France on 2 March 1940. He lost a wingtip fighting two Messerschmitt Bf 109s then downed one of them before being shot down himself. Kain glided some 30 miles to a forced landing at the French airfield at Metz.
