ruins of cornish industry canvas
Wheal Prosper, Rinsey, south west Cornwall. Preserved by the national trust for future generations. Wheal Prosper is a stunning example of the iconic Cornish engine house. Built around 1860, wheal prosper was used to pump water from the copper mine that ran out under sea. Though not a particularly successful mine, running for 6 years, its setting on the cliffs near Porthleven makes this one of the finest engine houses to visit.
