Penistone Viaduct canvas
The Lancashire & Yorkshire line from Huddersfield to Sheffield joined the Manchester, Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway at Penistone station, immediately after leaving the 29 arch Penistone Viaduct. This viaduct was built by Sir John Fowler in 1850 and resembles Lockwood, though at 30 m. (98 ft.) it is not as high and is also shorter.
