Fine art study of driftwod print

I found this intersting piece of driftwood on the banks of the river Mersey. I wanted to capture the twists and turns in the wood and the effects of the sun and water on the texture of the wood. The pebbles were added to give a balance as well as a contrasting form and texture to the composition. The driftwood is now in the flower beds in my garden, the pebbles are back in the pond. As with all my drawings on this site , it was completed using regular HB pencils and photography was only used fo
