Hard Luck print
Lieutenant Curtis R. Biddick nurses his damaged B17 Flying Fortress "Muggs" back to the UK. On July 24, 1943, Biddick and his crew returned from a mission to Trondheim. During this mission, he crash-landed in the vegetable patch of an RAF commanding officer in Aberdeen. Biddick was known as a “hard luck” pilot. On his missions with the 100th, his planes were often hit hard. He lost his life during a particularly dangerous raid on key factories in Regensburg and Schweinfurt on August 17 1943.
