Portland Bill Lighthouse picture board
Portland Bill lighthouse has been standing majestically for the past one hundred and fourteen years, at a height of 41 metres. This distinctive lighthouse with its red and white strips shone its first four flashes on 11th January 1906 and had a range of 25 nautical miles which guided passing vessels through hazardous waters around Portland Bill. Portland Bill is a narrow promontory at the Southern end of the Isle of Portland and the southernmost point of Dorset.
